Inter Milan Vs AC Milan: The Nerazzurri Qualify for the Champions League Final

Inter Milan has ensured qualification for the 2022/2023 Champions League Final. This was after the Nerazzurri won 1-0 over AC Milan in the semi-final second leg.

In the match that was held at the Giuseppe Meazza, Wednesday (17/5/2023) early morning WIB, Inter did lose control 44 percent to 56 percent.

However, they were sharper by making 15 attempts, four of which led to goals against Milan's five and one on goal.

Lautaro Martinez scored the only goal in this match as well as bringing La Beneamata to qualify for the Champions League top party with a 3-0 aggregate victory. Manchester City or Real Madrid will be Inter's opponents next month

Inter tried to take the initiative to attack from the early minutes in order to maintain a two-goal advantage. Meanwhile, Milan replied through the aggressiveness of Rafael Leao on the left side of the attack.

The presence of Leao made Milan's attacks more biting and made Inter's back line quite a hassle. In the 10th minute, Olivier Giroud managed to bounce the ball past Andre Onana and direct it to Sandro Tonali.

Tonali was left with an empty goal, but Matteo Darmian quickly dispelled it. A minute later Tonali's cross found Brahim Diaz in the penalty box, but Andre Onana was able to save the ball.

Inter were still struggling to create golden opportunities from the start of the match and made Milan easily control the ball. After 30 minutes of the game running, Inter began to be able to escape from the pressure of Milan.

Milan had a chance to open the scoring in the 37th minute when Leao beat Francesco Acerbi with his pace and came in from the left. He finished with a cross that went wide at the far post.

The hosts replied in the 39th minute when Hakan Calhanoglu's free kick was turned on by a deflected header by Martinez, but Maignan swiftly saved it.

Inter had to lose Henrikh Mkhitaryan to injury in the 43rd minute and had to be replaced by Marcelo Brozovic. Until halftime, the score lasted 0-0.

Entering the second half, the match was still running tight and there were no significant opportunities from both teams. Acerbi was almost sent off for stepping on Tonali in the penalty box, but VAR didn't take the foul seriously.

Inter were still trying to buy time by playing more on the ball, while Milan used the left flank occupied by Leao and Theo to attack.

In order to sharpen their attack line, Inter played Romelu Lukaku and Robin Gosens after an hour of running. Lukaku's entry made the game up front livelier.

Lautaro! The Argentine player made Inter 1-0 up while keeping the aggregate 3-0 away in the 74th minute. Lukaku played a 1-2 pass with Lautaro in the penalty box, before the last name shot into the right corner of Maignan's goal.

Inter then lowered the tempo of the game in the last 10 minutes and brought on Lautaro and Nicolo Barella. Until the fight ended, the score lasted 1-0 and Inter qualified for the Champions League final.
